Purgatory: What Is It?
Many Protestants think the Catholic Church fails as regards what Jesus Himself taught. Purgatory is one Catholic teaching they don’t think came from our Lord. It is asserted that this is one of the many made-up dogmas the Catholic Church binds its members to believe. It’s true all members of the Catholic Church are bound to believe in the dogma of purgatory. But is it made up?
In answering this claim, Broussard explains how the Catholic believer can turn to St. Paul’s classic text where he explains how the soul suffers loss through a purgation of fire but yet is saved? But, is there any evidence that Jesus taught such a place like Purgatory exists? Karlo Broussard examines what our separated brethren believe about Catholics on this important issue and what Catholics actually believe about the doctrine of Purgatory.
